Analyzing Augustine
E precisebody wants to be accepted. It is human reputation to want to tally in, to want to be cool. Augustine is no contrary than anybody in his generation, or any other generation. He wants to fit in with his friends and tries to accomplish this in Confessions on multiple occasions. Experiencing with the Manichees  faith is Augustines way of trying to be accepted by God. Augustine also wants to accept things himself. He isnt always looking at to be accepted but to accept things, such as Christianity. Augustines subconscious is in constant need of bankers acceptance of God.
In declare two of Augustines Confessions Augustine and a theme of his friends sneak into a neighbors orchard and steals most pears. He explains how they did not even eat the pears. He says that the still reason they stole the pears was for the enjoyment of stealing something. But Augustine didnt know that he would like the thrill of sinning. So why did he do it in the first place? To be accepted. If Augustine had told his friends that he wouldnt steal the pears with them he wouldve been considered boring, or not fun. His friends wouldnt have wanted to hang out with him anymore. So he wouldnt be accepted by them.



Augustine knew this, the particular that if he didnt do what his friends wanted him to do he would be shunned by the group. All he wants is to be accepted. By stealing the pears Augustine accomplished two things. He realized that he likes the feeling that sinning enables him to feel, and he was accepted by his friends.
During book four Augustines close childhood friend gets very sick. While his friend is on his deathbed his Catholic Family has him baptized. Augustine at this burden is now a Manichee and as part of that faith usage baptisms are not a part of world saved. His friend, who was also a Manichee wont listen to Augustine and wont tell him if he disapproves of the Catholic tradition or not.
