Enlightenment was the bestride of apprehension. At this time, American society started questioning the old beliefs. The discoveries of Galileo and nitrogen in physics revealed a universe that was infinite, yet governed by universal laws that could be discovered by the human mentality. both of these philosophers argued the philosophies of the church and explained the reason why the church was wrong.
