The second lesson Eddie learns is about sacrifice. Eddies soldiery headmaster is the second person that he met in heaven. The sea victor told Eddie that sacrifice is a art of life.

When they were in war the captain shot Eddie in the leg to save his life. Eddie also gave up his life to save a little girl.





Another lesson Eddie learned is forgiveness. Eddie learned to forgive the people he loved and the other people he barely knew. For instance he forgave the captain for making him a cripple. It is one of the hardest lessons for Eddie to learn because there were a lot of people in his life that needed forgiveness. Eddie at last had forgiven his father.
