The Fauvism icon I choose to think over on is The Joy of Life done by Henri Matisse in the year 1905. This image shows an array of different events in a specific culture. The trick is very representative of the way he mat about this way of life. I feel bid he chose to portray the figures as naked to express the freeness they felt. dependable as the dancers in the background must have felt; they look like they are expressing their emotions through dance. He transitions the color values of all his colors very swell up and excessively saturates them in some areas. He transitions his colors very graciously and compliments them well with the use of other colors. The space he portrays is very deep, showing a lot of expression. The fauvist sprint of painting is expressed greatly here with his cold brushwork and his observational perspective of this event.
The Cubism painting I chose to work into detail with is girlfriend with a Mandolin by Pablo Picasso done in the year 1910. hither Picasso is at his peak of his cubistic paintings. It is also an early character of analytical cubism. This image is the true definition of cubistic painting, with is sharp, obturate edges and its distorted view. This painting is very delicate as well modeled. It shows a charr in her pure form, doing something she enjoys.



It has a chromatic/gold theme in its color, also very unlit and distorted. The colors in this painting are shades of calorie-free brown, tan, yellow, and olive green. They all seem close to each in color, and they are all muted or dull. No lustrous color really stands out. These factors make the entire surface of the painting appear unified in color. The space behind the woman is very unrecognizable and it is hard to judge what space, if any, is back there. This is a very good example of cubism because of its broken color, fragmentation, faceting, distortion, elimination of perspective, and the nonrepresentational shapes encompassed with it.
